The artful, South African rocker (full name Tuelo Minah) uses the album to explore the journey that took her from her home and all over the world in search of her next chapter. She grew up on a remote farm amid the political turmoil during the end of South Africa’s apartheid, followed by a solo expedition to New York City at 17 to pursue music, follow by writing in Ireland, composing in Turkey and Germany, before heading back to NYC to finish the record (though she soon dipped to Colombia to film music videos for the album).
