William Ryan Key, the former Yellowcard frontman, has released new single “Brighton.” The second single from upcoming EP Everything Except Desire, the track moves further away from the pop-punk sound he first cut his teeth with. Following the lead of “Face In A Frame,” “Brighton moves into spacious electro-pop territory more akin to Chvrches than Key’s past work. “I think this song is a manifestation of my desire to set myself free from the constraints of what I’ve created in the past,” he says. “I wondered if it was too far removed from the music people expect to hear from me.
