As one of the godfathers of New York punk rock, Richard Hell’s legacy is rock solid, even if his output over the past few decades has been, well, almost non-existent. Even when he was fronting the brilliant Richard Hell & The Voidoids, they only managed to put out two records and those were spaced five years apart. That’s partly what makes Destiny Street Complete so engrossing. Thirty-nine years after the 10-tarck Destiny Street was initially released, this two-disc offering from Omnivore Recordings includes the initial album as it first sounded nearly four decades ago, along with a “repaired” version that reflects how Hell intended the album to sound. The second disc includes 11 remixes of the record along with a dozen demos and live versions of songs from Destiny Street. ...
