Novelty covers are a dime a dozen these days – and even the bad ones can be a useful distraction from the drudgery of day-to-day existence, as well as an escape from the political dystopia that seems prevalent everywhere these days. Bluegrass covers are nothing new, of course. Hayseed Dixie’s first album was a record of bluegrass covers of AC/DC songs, and the band have made an entire career out of bluegrassified tunes. Now, bluegrass outfit DD And The Butterlovers have covered Megadeth’s Symphony Of Destruction – possibly the most unbluegrass-esque song ever written – and it’s really quite good.
