Watch Shakira Cover Green Day’s Basket Case
Green Day are obviously one of the biggest (and best) bands on the planet, with a whole range of fans from outside the world of punk rock. And one of those names is seemingly pop star Shakira, who randomly decided to cover Basket Case over the weekend. The Hips Don’t Lie singer was in the studio with her producer when she tackled the Dookie smash single, posting a caption alongside a video of the short cover reading: “Me, being a basket case with my producer…” And while her take on Basket Case doesn’t have the snotty attitude of frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, it’s nevertheless a minute of poppy acoustic loveliness.
