Last year, German punks Meanbirds dropped their debut album, Confessions Of An Unrest Drama Queen, through Concrete Jungle Records. Singer and guitarist Magenta Caulfield might be a familiar face to some, as a former member of the street-punk band Rejected Youth. Meanwhile, bass player Tim Heerwagen has also been busy on the road with his former bands Shark Soup and Dead City Rockets. Music-wise, however, Meanbirds goes their own way, with a throwback punk sound that’s rough, straight-forward and, above all, energetic.
