Way Out Radio’s Paula Frost chats to Steve Lake, the lead singer of Zounds, about anarcho punk, Crass Records, free parties and festivals. The Reading, UK based band formed back in 1977 and started out playing squat parties and free festivals in an effort to escape the system. They grew to become an important band on the punk scene writing songs like War/ Subvert and Can’t Cheat Karma and releasing music through iconic labels like Crass Records and later Rough Trade Records. Now reformed, you will (hopefully) be able to catch them on tour later this year. You can read more about Zounds in Steve Lake’s book, Zounds Demystified, that can be purchased here The post Steve Lake (Zounds) appeared first on ThePunkSite.com.
