Punk rock's early history will be on display in photography show at Hamilton Art Crawl

Ralph Alfonso has an "an archeological treasure trove" of photos documenting the earliest days of punk music.

His artifacts include candid shots of Teenage Head, Blondie, Patti Smith, Iggy Pop and the Ramones, including what he believes to be the only photo of that American band in which all the members are smiling.

In honour of punk's 50th anniversary this year, Alfonso has scoured through his negatives and put together an exhibit called Picture My Face that will be making its Hamilton debut at Art Crawl from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday...
