Having opened with the wonderful quirky pop of Jessie Ware a few days earlier, the stunning location of Piece Hall in Halifax was taken over by 5,000 or so fans as one of Britrock’s biggest icons, Noel Gallagher, made a trek over to Yorkshire for an unsurprisingly sold-out date ahead of his appearance at Glastonbury Festival. With family and plenty of friends in attendance, Gallagher played through a solid set featuring tracks from his three solo albums along with all those classic Oasis cuts. With a Manchester City flag draped over one of his amps, Noel was in a fine mood, joking with the crowd and even signing one fan’s album.
