Album Review: Genocide Pact – Genocide Pact

DC’s death metal goliath Genocide Pact return for their second Relapse offering, Genocide Pact. The now-four-piece deliver a treacherous album with intimidating atmosphere and devastating low end. The band has improved since their impressive Order of Torment in 2018. Genocide Pact spew eight tracks; nothing, short of the six minute closer, exceeds four minutes. They know how to focus, crush, get out. Genocide Pact’s version of USDM gathers riffs with groove and crunch. The production is noisy, fuzzy, and dirty. The sound, and consequently, the feel of Genocide Pact is grotesque. The punch of this ugly concoction is immediate despite pacing.
