Album Review: Boy Harsher – ‘The Runner (Original Soundtrack)’

Darkwave synth band Boy Harsher are releasing their newest album, The Runner (Original Soundtrack), on Friday, the eight tracks working to accompany their short film The Runner, which premiered on Shudder and Mandolin earlier this week. That’s not to say it’s a requirement to view the film to understand or enjoy the tracks, though I’d highly recommend any fan watch the film at some point. The narrative follows a nameless women as she journeys from place to place wreaking havoc—running Lucy’s Cooper Handy from a trailer home, seducing FlucT’s Sigrid Lauren at a bar before meeting a bloody finish—cutting back and forth to Boy Harsher’s Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller filming a garage studio music video.
