Established just this year by Sanford Schaffer, who handles writing, singing, and production chores, Boston-based rock project Pimmer has released their debut album, Halcyon 303, via Mint 400 Records. Schaffer explains: “It’s a collection of tracks from those particular years where there were no gigs, no tours, and no band. I just wrote a lot of songs and recorded them with Duck. The opportunity to sign with Mint 400 Records just sort of flew in through the window one day while I was at work; it was totally unexpected.” Pimmer’s sound, described as crystal-crunch-noise-pop, was inspired by Bob Dylan and Tom Petty, along with influences from Pat Matheny Group and R.E.M.’s Murmur sessions.
