A new biopic about late Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister – simply titled Lemmy – is set to go into production in early 2021. According to Deadline, the movie will be navigated by Greg Olliver – who also worked on the 2010 documentary all about the heavy metal icon. The director reveals that his team have “been carefully developing this biopic since 2013” – two years before Lemmy passed away – with the project focusing on Lem as a “vanguard and talisman of the loudest, dirtiest and most liberated rock’n’roll band in the world”. “Everything you’ve heard about Lemmy is probably true… not because he was embracing rock’n’roll clichés, but because he was creating them,” he says. “Marlboro Reds and Jack Daniel’s for breakfast, speed for dinner – all true.
