An IDLES show is a real dichotomy. Violent, aggressive music, that comes from a place of love and compassion. It’s what has made them one of the most loved and important bands of recent times and saw them perform an already legendary Other Stage headlining set at this year’s Glastonbury. With the venue slowly filling up, LA’s Angelica Garcia performed a wonderfully intriguing set of twisted melodic indie pop tracks, mainly sung in Spanish. It was easy to fall under her spell as she sashayed around the stage. With a hypnotic sound and rhythm that would probably be better suited to a small dark venue than full daylight, it was extremely enjoyable and a celebration of the diversity that Idles fans are more than open to.
