Back in the US after three years, British rock band Wolf Alice stopped at The Vic Theatre in Chicago, IL to promote their newest album Blue Weekend. It was the first night of the tour for opener Bria, who joined halfway through the Blue Weekend trek. Made up of multi-instrumentalist Bria Salmena and Duncan Hay Jennings, with touring keyboardist Jaime McCuaig, Bria is anything but a country band, in fact, it is hard to pinpoint their exact genre, as each song’s influences range from dark country to jazz, to pop. Halfway through their set, I overheard someone call them “a country Mazzy Star” and I would have to agree (which is a HUGE compliment in my own opinion).
