It’s always worth getting down to a venue early because you just don’t know what you might miss out on. Proof of this comes for those fans who arrived early at Manchester’s cavernous O2 Victoria Warehouse to see Los Angeles alternative rock trio Wallows. Filling the sounds of this room was tour support Matilda Mann. The London-based songwriter provided a wonderful soundtrack to the early part of the evening. Intimate, gentle, but yet still anthemic and powerful, Mann treated those already filing into the venue to tracks like “Say It Back”. Enchanting the audience with stories about her songs in the breaks, Mann was certainly a fitting choice for support with her personality as enchanting as her music.
