Walk the Moon @ Brooklyn Steel (Brooklyn, NY) on September 28, 2021 [Photos & Show Review]

Every time I’ve seen Walk the Moon, they’ve given nothing short of an electric performance. As I made my way to Brooklyn Steel for the NYC date of the “Dream Plane Tour,” I knew seeing them now would be a much-needed breath of fresh air. As Walk the Moon took the stage, the opening notes to “Portugal” off of 2014’s Talking Is Hard reverberated through the venue. When vocalist Nicholas Petricca sang, “Take me with you / ‘Cause even on your own / You are not alone,” it felt like he was singing directly to every fan in the room, many of whom were attending their first post-covid concert after a year and a half of lockdowns and quarantines. The band continued the set with more songs off of the same album, going into “Avalanche” and then “Different Colors,” before diving into some new material....
