Video Premiere: Nat James Rufus – ‘Tropic of Hell’

Psych-goth extraordinaire Nat James Rufus of Blacklist Royals fame is self-releasing a surf rock solo album, Goes Solow, available February 26. New Noise Magazine is proud to premiere the video for Rufus’ latest single, “Tropic of Hell,” below: On the video for ‘Tropic of Hell,” Rufus states: “As a songwriter I’ve always been inspired by visuals, heard songs in photographs, etc. With the ‘Tropic Of Hell’ video I tried to recreate the vibe of films and bands whose aesthetic inspired my solo material as much as their sound: The Cramps, The Misfits, Something Weird Video, and so on. In such a square world, I can’t think of better traditions to carry on.” To celebrate the single’s release, Rufus has also composed a beat poem for “Tropic of Hell,” which will be on the cassette...
