Upchuck announce new Ty Segall-produced LP, pay homage to Pee-wee in “Freaky” video

Atlanta punks Upchuck have announced a new album, Bite the Hand That Feeds, which will be out October 13 via Famous Class. The album was recorded and produced by Ty Segall at his Harmonizer Studio. While tracked live to tape, Segall helped push the band in new, heightened, fuzzed out directions. The first single from the album is its revved-up opening track, “Freaky,” that comes with stylish horror-themed video directed by Ian Cone. It’s one of those “wild night” videos that recalls everything from Repo Man to After Hours, but the opening scene is an homage to Pee-wee’s Big Adventure and was shot before Paul Reuben’s death.
