Toni Cornell pays tribute to father Chris with beautiful Nothing Compares 2 U cover

Following the song’s 2022 GRAMMY nomination, Toni Cornell hit The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night (December 16) to perform her dad’s cover of Nothing Compares 2 U. Toni was joined by a backing band and string quartet for the stunning rendition of Chris’ wonderful cover, which appears on the posthumous album No One Sings Like You Anymore. Of course, the original version was written by Prince in 1985, and then popularised by Sinéad O’Connor five years later. Chris Cornell’s Nothing Compares 2 U is nominated in the Best Rock Performance category in next year’s GRAMMYs, along with AC/DC​’s Shot In The Dark, Black Pumas’ Know You Better (Live From Capitol Studio A), Deftones’ Ohms and Making A Fire by Foo Fighters.
