Notorious Canadian garage punk The Spitfires are tragically most often remembered for Toronto gig back in 2003that effectively ended their promising career after their frontman set off a chemical fire extinguisher at a show at the Horseshoe Tavern that set off a crowd panic and effectively got them banned from playing live in Toronto. However, all of these years later the recording of a 2003 gig at Vancouver’s Piccadilly Pub (affectionately known as ‘The Pic’) is being released for the first time. The recording was done by Howard Redekopp, who later went on to work with the likes of Tegan and Sara, Mother Mother and New Pornographers and the live footage was captured by Danny Nowack and his crew who also worked on Bruce McDonald’s iconic film Hard Core Logo.
