The Pixies’s New Video Is A Supernatural Acid Fantasy

There’s always been a darkness surrounding the Pixies. Even in their most plunky, poppy moments, the band entertains certain themes that are steeped in the shadowier parts of the human soul. But in their new video, On Graveyard Hill, the band don’t hint at or touch on these elements — they swallow five tabs of LSD and dive right in.On Graveyard Hill follows a young woman in a retro-drenched world taking a ride in a hearse to meet a popular psychic. When she gets there, though, and gets her palm read, she’s immersed in a parade of trippy and terrifying imagery that smacks of horror films like Beyond The Black Rainbow, Hereditary, The Nun, and Mandy.
