Vancouver sea shanty inspired folk-punk act The Dreadnoughts are celebrating that their latest sea chanties album, Into the North, debuted by charting at number fourteen on the Billboard Top World Music Charts. The disc dropped back in November via Stomp Records. According to the band, the CBC (Canada’s public radio) refused play the music due to lack of perceived public interest in a sea shanties album sung primarily in a capella style. Their fans seemingly proved them wrong.
