Taking Back Sunday cover classic Weezer emo anthem “My Name Is Jonas”

Taking Back Sunday have unveiled a cover of Weezer’s hit single “My Name is Jonas”. The Long Island alternative rockers have covered the song multiple times during live shows in the last couple of years, and felt the time was right for a studio version of the emo-rockers Blue Album classic. Despite putting their own, distinctly Taking Back Sunday spin on the track, the alternative rock legends have remained true to the original. “We all grew up listening to Weezer. Playing this song together was so much fun and broke up the monotony of day to day touring life”, said bassist Shaun Cooper, speaking exclusively to Consequence. “We started adding the song to our setlist and recorded it on a day off in Buffalo NY.
