Woot! April 21st is the release date for the new Sunshine Riot EP, Loud, Bright, Violent. Recorded in the Fall of 2022 with Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago, the new EP has the Boston band returning to their alt-grunge roots. Now, the group have unleashed their arresting new single titled “Looking at the Past.” Looking at the Past by Sunshine Riot Commenting on the tune, vocalist and guitarist Jonny Orton says: “The song sort of exists in two places. The first half, I think, is the internal narrative of a character who has taken a long time to change, I suppose for the better, and is reflecting on their past while attempting to assure themselves and others they weren’t too late in putting their wilder and lesser ways down.
