In 2022, in between recording sessions of their self titled debut album, Sunliner got the opportunity to head down to the coast and record a few songs at Frank Turner‘s home studio, so, mid-way in writing an album, they put that work aside and wrote two new songs. Special Place in Hell was the first that came out, frantic and angry it is the ultimate anti-tory, anti-snowflake-phrase-user anthem. Frank’s production approach shines through, enhancing the songwriting and instrumentation, with moments as simple singer Jake‘s using his childhood acoustic guitar subtly in the background or the energy and push in the songs.
