Show Review: AFI at The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles

AFI played two sold out shows at the Hollywood Palladium last week and team New Noise was fortunate enough to cover night two. The iconic punk meets alternative meets sing your heart out rock’n’roll heroes in AFI played an amazing set packed with old school early millennium jams off The Art of Drowning and Sing The Sorrow which was all sorts of amazing. The band hit the stage playing the fan favorite opening chant of “Strength Through Wounding” from 1999’s Black Sails In The Sunset and immediately went into “This Celluloid Dream” and “Girl’s Not Grey” off 2001’s milestone, Sing The Sorrow. The band played newer tracks off their recent 2021 album Bodies, such as “Dulcería” and “Begging For Trouble” but it was the unexpected whoppers like “Ever and a Day” and “Morningstar” from 2000’s ...
