Over the weekend, the members of Tool joined forces for a surprise performance of Ænema at the Hollywood Bowl. The appearance came about at frontman Maynard James Keenan’s 60th birthday Sessanta Tour, which has been travelling throughout North America all month bringing together the brilliant line-up of A Perfect Circle, Puscifer and Primus. And in Los Angeles on April 20, fans got the added bonus of Danny Carey, Adam Jones and Justin Chancellor coming out with Maynard and Primus’ Les Claypool to perform the 1997 track – and not only were those in attendance actually allowed to film it (which isn’t usually the case), but according to Reddit it marked the first time Tool have performed Ænema in 25 years with Maynard at the front of the stage.
