Brooklyn post-punk lifers SAVAK have returned with their new single, Cold Ocean, that is now available via the Ernest Jenning Record Company. The track is the band’s first release of the new year, with danceable rhythms, angular guitars and a hard-driving baseline, the song delves into the feelings of pain and desperation that arise from a fleeting romance. The corresponding video, directed by Rob Kassabian, was shot on a cold November day on the boardwalks of New York’s Brighton Beach and Coney Island. The video shows “Walker Slim,” aka Mark Weills, buying jewelry for a romantic rendezvous, only to be met with disappointment when they don’t show.
