Rude City Riot – Molotov Dreams

This year, eight-piece Vancouver power-ska band Rude City Riot celebrates the tenth anniversary of their debut full length, Nothin’ But Time.  The band’s original debut communicated a strong career potential.  Exploring aspects of speedy punked-up upstrokes circa The Have Nots and laid back, backyard rhythms circa Westbound Train, it was an eclectic mix with many rewarding tracks, but stumbled on providing a definitive album flow beyond the halfway mark.  A full decade and minor hiatus later (band members are in other bands like Raygun Cowboys, and many of them started families), the band returns for a formal follow-up and long awaited sophomore effort, Molotov Dreams.  While all of Rude City Riot’s familiar foundational elements remain, in many respects Molotov Dreams ...
