Gates, more commonly known as Pearl Harbour, was formerly married to The Clash bassist Paul Simonon, had been a part of Leila And The Snakes and formed the band Pearl Harbour And The Explosions in 1988, the band originally included the late Buck Naked (Buck Naked And The Bare Bottom Boys) and East Bay Ray (Dead Kennedys) in the line up.
