The Spits have been around for just about three decades, having created some of the most unhinged and iconic tracks in underground music, and equally wild live shows. Following the release of their last album VI in October, the band is hitting the road and has announced an upcoming fall tour. Their new LP marks a “return to roots,” with the band recording and writing VI in the basements of Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, MI. “We’ve only been into an actual studio like three times,” Sean Wood says. “I don’t think we’ve had one record that was recorded all in one place, this may be the closest thing.
