News: Matador Records Reissue Mary Timony Solo Debut ‘Mountains’

As part of their Revisionist History Series, Matador Records have announced a reissue of the 2000 debut solo album by Mary Timony, Mountains, out January 15, 2021. Previous releases in the series focussed on the year 1995, seeing rereleases of classic Pavement, Yo La Tengo, Guided by Voices, and Chavez albums. Mountains has been remastered by Bob Weston, and this 20th-anniversary reissue version will come with three tracks – “Return to Pirates,” “Poison Moon,” and “Killed by the Telephone”- cut from the album when it was originally released. There’s also a newly recorded orchestral version of “Valley of One Thousand Perfumes” produced by composer Joe Wong (Russian Doll, Midnight Gospel) and mixed by Dave Fridmann.
