Former psych-gaze outfit Creepoid members Anna and Patrick Troxell have returned with a new project, Lovelorn, dropping their first single “Sickness Reward”, and announcing their debut album, What’s Yr Damage, will release August 6 via 6131 Records. Self-described “drug pop”, Lovelorn was in the works before Creepoid even disbanded, with the debut album, What’s Yr Damage, named or a term of endearment used between the duo. The album celebrates the longstanding romantic and creative partnership they share. The newly announced project draws influences from the likes of Soulwax, Echo & The Bunnymen, and Spacemen 3, with the duo mashing together analog and digital instrumentation to create their sound that lies on the outskirts of conventional pop music.
