Mexico screamo band Joliette are releasing a new EP, Luz de Bengala, this Friday (8/25) via Zegema Beach Records (pre-order). We’re premiering its second single “Charlotte,” a raw-yet-beautiful dose of screamo that aims to look at a breakup in a more positive light than your usual breakup song. It comes with a video filmed at some of the band’s shows earlier this year. Bassist Gastón Prado says: The lyrics of the song are a direct reference to an ex-girlfriend. I have noticed that most breakup songs can be very negative or downright bitter. But I wanted to talk about it in a positive light.
