Placebo have followed up 2021 singles Beautiful James and Surrounded By Spies with a hopeful and powerful new single, Try Better Next Time. Taken from upcoming eighth album Never Let Me Go (due out on March 25 via SO Recordings), the song marks something of a change in subject matter on the record, acting as a promising look into the future with its rousing ​‘Wake up / Wake up / Try better next time’ chorus. “It is not the end of the world, only the end of humanity, a distinction that in our overblown hubris we are unable to detect,” explains Brian Molko. ​“Mother Nature has grown extremely weary of us.
