Show Me the Body are a hardcore punk band out of NYC with a real and raw sound that links to the history of their forebearers while managing to be something entirely new and auspicious. They have managed to distinguish themselves within the hallowed halls of an underground scene that owes its heritage to some of the most ambitious American musicians of the past fifty years. A fact that inspires both pride and humility amongst the band’s members. Show Me the Body made a lot of converts to their cause (including myself) with their 2019 album Dog Whistle, a meditation on the creeping erasure of the City’s endemic population due to market forces and gentrification.
