Henry Morris – “Sweet N Low” [Song Review]

“Sweet N Low,” recently released by Henry Morris, is certainly a track that caught me by surprise. The song begins with a massive crescendo into the chorus, rather than the typical start with the first verse. The song immediately brought me back to my 2014 grungy self, obsessed with The Neighbourhood, alt-j, and Arctic Monkeys. “Sweet N Low” has that beachy feel of The Neighbourhood’s original album but simultaneously evokes the image of a mysterious woman in a dive bar smoking a cigarette that you so desperately want to talk to but don’t have the confidence to. There’s something to Morris’ voice that lingers somewhere between a rasp and a whisper in your ear.
