Hear A Snippet Of A New Pearl Jam Song, River Cross

Ahead of the release of Pearl Jam’s Gigaton in March, a surprise snippet of album track River Cross soundtracked a 60-second Super Bowl ad last night. The song – which actually closes the Seattle titans’ forthcoming 12-track release – accompanies a voice-over from the legendary actor Harrison Ford in the new commercial from Verizon titled The Amazing Things 5G Won’t Do. Speaking to Variety about the collaboration, Verizon’s chief marketing officer Diego Scotti revealed that Harrison’s participation marks “the first time” he’s done a voice-over for an ad before, while Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder “played a role in the company’s ability to secure rights to use of the group’s song”.
