Guns N’ Roses Sweet Child O’ Mine Is The First ’80s Video To Reach A Billion Views On YouTube

A little under a year ago, it was announced that the video for Linkin Park’s Numb had officially surpassed the billion-view mark on YouTube. Now, the song is in good company, as Guns N’ Roses’s Sweet Child O’ Mine has reached over a billion views, making not only GN’R’s second billion-view video, but also the first music video of the 1980s to reach a billion views on YouTube.According to a press release making the rounds, Sweet Child O’ Mine just beat out Aha’s Take On Me, which has 943 million views. The Sweet Child video has been watched approximately 590K times a day in 2019, thanks in part to GN’R’s 6.7 million subscribers on their YouTube artist page.
