After a whooooole lotta teasing this month, Green Day’s huge news is finally here: the punk rock legends have just unveiled a killer single, The American Dream Is Killing Me, and announced details of their 14th album Saviors. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has revealed that The American Dream… was actually one of the last songs the band wrote for Saviors – but it left an instant impression on the trio (completed by bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tré Cool). “As soon we cut it, we said, ‘Okay, that’s going first,’” Billie Joe reveals, while also calling the single “a look at the way the traditional American Dream doesn’t work for a lot of people – in fact, it’s hurting a lot of people.” As for Saviors as a whole, the record is due out on January 19, ...
