EP Review: Viper Club – ‘Viper Club’

Coming off the back off a raucous set of mid-pandemic singles, including “Reese Witherspoon” and “Red Pen,”  Arizona rockers Viper Club wrap 2021 with a self-titled EP tackling internet fame, drug abuse, and relationships. From the beginning of opening track “Call Me,” Jack Vanderpol’s enchanting lead vocal takes center stage, the album leaning on the charismatic front man without drowning out the deft cohesion and technical smarts of the instrumental unit, the combination of which feed an indelibly hooky and distorted sound.
