California native Johnny Zirkel, aka The Wildfires Projekt is back in 2022 with his diverse “nu-punk” soundscape. Rooted in alternative rock, with pop and hip-hop intonations making themselves known, Lost & Searching is Zirkel’s second EP under the moniker, following on from 2020’s post-hardcore leaning “From Which We Came.” Zirkel cuffs Ontario act Say We Can fly for opener, “Paradise” a dark and cautionary tale of the false lures of Hollywood, fame, and fortune.
