EP review: Death Blooms – Fuck Everything

Death Blooms are a band who, as their name suggests, sound like Hell. Fuck Everything, the Liverpool natives’ third EP, picks right up where 2019’s You Are Filth left off, diving head-first into 15 minutes of unrelenting nu-metalcore ferocity that, while hardly subtle, demonstrates an uncompromising dedication to the sonic destruction through which they’re making their name. The influence of Slipknot on this band’s sound is evident the moment riffy opening track Life Is Pain kicks-in. Frontman Paul Barrow’s vocals sound like they’re being screamed from the depths of the abyss as a barrage of chunky guitars usher in an apocalyptic sense of dread, but amongst all the aggression are moments of theatricality that elevate the music beyond a mere tribute to nu-metal​’s b...
