Dawn Ray’d announce split: “This is no longer the right vessel for us to express ourselves creatively or politically”

Despite releasing their brilliant third album To Know The Light earlier in the year, Dawn Ray’d are splitting up. In a statement posted to social media, the black metal trio explain that they feel as though the band is ​“no longer the right vessel for us to express ourselves creatively or politically and we have said what we needed to say in places that hopefully needed to hear it”. They’ve cancelled all future shows, while ​“all money and future merch orders will be donated to Sea Watch, and all cash will be given to Liverpool Migrant Solidarity Network”.
