Coheed and Cambria have just launched a new 7″ single with “The Joke,” a non-album track from the sessions for 2022’s Vaxis – Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind, and B-side “Deranged,” a remixed and remastered version of the song that originally came out as part of 2011’s Batman: Arkham City soundtrack. “The Joke” is a twitchy prog freakout done in the way that only Coheed can do, and singer/guitarist Claudio Sanchez says, “The meaning behind ‘The Joke’ is basically, if you need a punching bag, I’ll be that guy.” The song comes with a video that features Al The Killer from Coheed’s The Armory Wars universe “being bullied by a nefarious prankster.” Check it out below.
