It’s been an eventful 2024 for Patriarkh, and not just for the reasons you would think, with a new album on the way. Since their formation in 2015, the Polish band was known as Batushka. Then this year brought a court battle between singer and guitarist Krzysztof Drabikowski and previous singer Bartłomiej Krysiuk over the use of the name Batushka. By September, Krysiuk announced that his band would no longer use the name Batushka and would rebrand under the name Patriarkh. The change became definitive earlier this month. To coincide with the name change, Patriarkh is set to release their new album ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ (Prophet Ilja) on January 3rd.
