Anniversary: Red Fang’s ‘Murder The Mountains’ Turns 10 Today

2011 marked the sophomore offering, Murder The Mountains, from Portland Oregon’s, Red Fang, Murder The Mountains is a sludgy mix of heavy garage distortion detouring into a grungy take on Queens of the Stone Age and Mastodon. If that sounds like a lot, you’re probably not from Portland, because that typically comes out of a garage when it’s overcast and raining, with a fridge full of beer and a dispensary nearby. Standout tracks include “Wires,” “Dirt Wizard, and “Human Herd.” Tad would be proud. Anyone remember the Canadian show Todd and the Book of Pure Evil?  The song “Wires” appeared in it, and speaking of the aforementioned “Wires,” it also appeared in the video game Rocksmith, as did “Number Thirteen” as well.
