On their new album I Won’t Care How You Remember Me, which drops on March 5 via Hopeless Records, Scranton-founded indie rockers Tigers Jaw tackle creeping heartbreak via a sort of uneasy defiance. The music features a striking contrast between some of the more beefy elements of the group’s grungy indie rock sound and the generally relatively soulfully inclined and emotionally resonant singing from Ben Walsh and Brianna Collins, who take turns leading particular songs. Their vocals are never particularly aggressive, as if they’re capturing a moment just beyond a peak of inward tension as emotional fallout and even a sense of slowly wafting sadness settle in.
