Album Review: Silverstein – Misery Made Me

Silverstein have been blending punk rock and metalcore since their debut album back in 2003, with Misery Made Me being their 10th studio album. Their albums have been consistent and even surprising how they’ve managed to have the same hard edge for all of these years. Their latest effort falls a bit short of their previous releases, though it should be noted that the standards are incredibly high. The first listen-through was a complete disappointment. I was listening while on a plane, and it sounded like Silverstein were aiming for a more radio-friendly sound that would appeal to a wider fanbase, sacrificing their heaviness and punk flair in the process.
